Patrick Gamble

CEO, Perpetual Guardian Group

Patrick was appointed CEO of the Perpetual Guardian Group in 2020. He brings extensive experience in the business and the industry, having spent more than six years as Perpetual Guardian’s Group General Counsel, building the Group through a series of acquisitions and integrations and fronting our relationships with investors, regulators, government, advisors, and media. He then planned and executed the separation of the Group’s Corporate Trust divisions, a NZ legal first, ahead of successful divestment in 2021.

Prior to joining Perpetual Guardian, Patrick practised law at Russell McVeagh and worked for international law firms in Dublin and Malta – specialising in corporate and commercial law, capital markets and joint ventures and shareholder arrangements. He was named NZ Young In-house Lawyer of the Year in 2017 and is a former international representative in judo and powerlifting.

As a prominent voice in national fiduciary and financial services, he fronts the Group’s relationships with investors, regulators, government, advisors, and media – often commenting on matters of public interest around philanthropy, wealth transfer, tax, and legislation such as inheritance law.
