Ben is a non-executive director of a number of public and private companies. He is also a founding partner and executive chairman of H2 Ventures, a venture capital investment firm focused on innovation and technology-enabled disruption in fields including fintech, data and artificial intelligence. Previously, Ben was Managing Director at UBS Global Asset Management, former chairman of the Responsible Entity Compliance Committee of UBS Global Asset Management and a director of the UBS Foundation. During his tenure at UBS, he was also a non-executive director of the Financial Services Council Limited, the peak representative body of the retail financial services industry, and co-chair of the global markets committee of the FSC.

During his studies at Massey University, James achieved his Bachelor’s degree in the top five percent of the Business School graduates while studying extramurally and competing as a professional cyclist in Europe. His ability to balance rigorous academic pursuits with a demanding sports career exemplifies his dedication and time-management skills.

In his spare time, James serves as a medic and leads whitewater kayaking and canyoning expeditions, showcasing his adventurous spirit and commitment to helping others. His diverse experiences and strong academic background make him a valuable asset to Castle Point and a well-rounded individual.
